Oakham Grange has been featured in the national press this week – All about Golf and bringing joy and exercise with our new artificial putting green.
How Oakham Grange care home has brought golf to their residents by installing an artificial putting green for everyone to enjoy
As we all know, golf is a game to be enjoyed by everyone and can be played at any age. We received this good news story from Oakham Grange in Rutland who have created an artificial putting green for their residents to enjoy all year round.
It’s a perfect fit with Oakham Grange’s care ethos of maintaining residents’ skills and interests. The hope is that by having their own putting green, residents have another reason to go outside for a breath of fresh air, make new friends and gain additional exercise. It also provides a great way for the residents to spend time with family and friends when they come to visit them.
Getting older doesn’t mean you lose your competitive side, so the putting green will enable friendly competitions across multiple generations.
No matter your age you can play with a putter
Robert Myers part of the team at Oakham Grange said:
“Seeing residents make new friends on our little putting green is very satisfying. Everyone at some stage has picked up a putter, be that at a crazy golf course at the seaside, through to those how enjoyed a low handicap as a member of a golf club.”
